You've accurately summed up the way beefs take place in this new G-Unit era. I used to think 50 Cent was the most obnoxious person when it came to beef-- until last night I heard Tony Yayo talking wreckless on the radio. What's even more sad is that these days, even when it comes to battles, all the rappers really care about is their record sales. It would bring a big Kool Aid smile to my face if Yayo's album turns out to be a dud on SoundScan.

You have a good point, but, that only applies to people who understand the concept of 'backing a friend up' which is very different from impulsive loyalty. What if you happen to be friends with both parties in the discord you've examplified here, what course of action would you take? The point I'm trying to get across is that some people see a legit reason to get involved in others' beef, while a person like Tony Yayo would diss the entire New York City to please his boss who tells him when and when not to move, as he explained on "My Toy Soldier". See what I mean?

I do have to disagree with your statement of label mates getting involved in "beef" to gain publicity. I do believe some beef starts just for that purpose but think of it like this. Say you and your boy are out and some dude comes up startin shit, your goin want to be there to back him up. I wouldnt classify it as loyalty just bein a friend when one is needed.
