I am sorry did not really meant to make it seem like that.
It actually seems to work for your blog cause when i do it for mine it does not really give me the actual smiley faces as it does on yours.

hmm about the smiley bit, if you want to make a happy face
colon and close bracket winking face-semi colon and Close bracket sad face colon and open bracket just play about with your keyboard.
