Hood Surgeon?

“You’ve gotta be kidding me like my daddy aint here.”

I almost died after listening to Curtis Young’s “Malpractice” (via Rahul). Not out of excitement, but because it’s been years since my ears were last desecrated by such impurities. Not since the era of soundclick have I encountered anyone so unsure and disoriented on the mic. Forget the fact that the vocals were recorded in the shower, this kid’s twice as redundant as The Game.

I’m a Dre faithful but damn it’s hard to believe that a perfectionist like Andre Young would endorse such bullshit. Dre jr. has definitely picked up the wrong prescription from the good doctor.

Malpractice? The title couldn’t have been more honest.

Then again, maybe I’m evaluating him a little too early.

I just want to let everybody out there know.. That “HOOD SURGEON” in 2002, was a friend of mine, and at that time he had NEVER met Dr. Dre HOOD S. was working on music with me and we were hangin out everything!!!..first of all his real name is curtis mclemore not curtis young!! ok, check this out!!! because me and hood s. was doing music together and i had the hook up in the entertainment business he asked me to help him get to his dad.. because all his life his mom did not know how to connect to dr. dre.. so i called to dre’s lawyer told him the story and dre called hood surgeon they went and took a paternity test!!! and it was proven that hood was his son!!!HERE IS THE WORST PART..AFTER HOOD S. GOT TO DR. DRE BECAUSE OF MY HELP… HOOD SURGEON THE NEXT DAY..DRE BOUGHT HIM A NEW CAR AND NEW CLOTHES…AND I WENT OVER TO HIS HOUSE.. AND HOOD S. SLAMMED THE DOOR IN MY FACE AND SAID “F–K YOU I DONT NEED YOU ANYMORE” I GOT MY DAD NOW!!!.. AND THAT WAS THE LAST TIME I SAW HIM THIS WAS IN 2002!!! SO TO READ ALL THESE COMMENTS ABOUT HOOD SURGEON!! IS A TRIP BECAUSE I AM THE REASON DR. DRE FOUND HIS SON..AND THE WORST PART ABOUT IT DRE. DOES NOT EVEN KNOW WHO I AM!!!!

THANK YOU, MENGESHA MYSTRO FRANCIS

Compton rapper and self-proclaimed West Coast revivalist Hood Surgeon already had a leg up in that department, being the son of the West Coast’s most venerated hip-hop producer, Dr. Dre. Born in Paramount, CA, Curtis Young and his mother relocated to Compton when he was very young and attending elementary school. He grew up in Compton just like his old man, nothing could steer Young away from becoming a rap artist, Following in his father’s footsteps, he went on to establish his own independent label, So Hood Records, and quickly acquired several newcomers to its roster. He also had taken up production and learned how to handle some of the engineering aspects of recording all on his own. Having shelved out a few local mixtapes, Hood Surgeon started receiving exposure through some national publications and Internet sites (sometimes together with Eazy-E’s son Lil’ Eazy-E) in 2006, which revealed his relationship, and young facial resemblance, to Dr. Dre. The following year, the Surgeon’s two singles, “Paradise” and “All I Need,” preceding to this summer release of his independent debut, The Legacy Continues…
