Stephon Marbury and Steve Barry Present "Starbury"
Biz Markie, Rocsi, and others were in the house to support the new clothing line by Knicks guard Stephon Marbury. $14.98 for a pair of sneaks? $9.99 for a crisp tee? How real is that?

Anonymous Says: August 18th, 2006 at 5:24 pm Nana…it costs like 5 dollars to make a pair of Jordans, or basically any other “good quality” tennis shoe…so there’s no reason for us to be paying $150 for shoes that cost 5 dollars to make…I don’t know what Marbury’s thinking, but I’ll cop them joints |

Nana Says: August 18th, 2006 at 5:33 pm in that case s.carter, G-Unit and them must be mad right now cuz they been exposed by Marbury |

Rizoh Says: August 18th, 2006 at 5:36 pm I don’t know how much it costs to make shoes, but I’m sure it wayyyyy cheaper than what they sell for. Same with CDs. You can make a solid disc with 50 cents, not adding creative cost and what have you. But we end up paying $18 for that shit. And, don’t tell me no bullshit about supporting the artist cause they only get like 10 cents unless you’re Jay-Z or 50 Cent, then we’re talking $3 to $4. Saddening. |

khal Says: August 18th, 2006 at 6:26 pm he talked about these in the latest issue of DIME… http://www.starbury.com … he grew up in the ‘jects and wants to reach out to the moms who have nmad kids and no loot to get them the stuff they want. you know, get them fitted fresh and still be able to pay on the light bill and shit. it’s a beautiful thing, and he says be assured that they are top quality. i think they are only to be sold at certains tores though… steve & barry’s? i’m not sure. i don’t know shit about ny stores but that’s what i heard. |
