Def Jam Fall Release Schedule

I’d be surprised if Esco drops earlier than the first quarter of 2007. Apparently, Def Jam wants us to pretend that Reggie is dropping an album anytime soon.

  • Redman
    Red Gone Wild
    October 3

  • Shareefa
    Point of No Return
    October 24
  • Lady Sovereign
    Public Warning
    October 31
  • Bobby Valentino
    Special Occasion
    November 14
  • Jay-Z
    Kingdom Come
    November 21
  • Young Jeezy
    Thug Motivation 102: The Inspiration
    December 12
  • Nas
    Hip-Hop Is Dead…The N
    December 12

(PSst: These things change by the minute, so I’ll try to keep you posted, depending on how often UMG updates their shit.) Updated.

LL was right - Jay Z is a selfish motherfukker

5. B-Boy P Says:

Impeach Jay-Z. Now.

6. Rizoh Says:

^Calm down. At least he’s not trying to drop in the same month as Nas

7. Clyde Smith Says:

Amazon still has Red Gone Wild listed as out last year and available.

Not only that but somebody’s already dropped a review saying how great the album is!

Although I tend to think that’s someone doing weak pr, Paul Wall says he used to go on discussion boards before he had anything out and ask if people had heard any of those ill tracks from Paul Wall and he’d get people responding talking about how hot Paul Wall’s music was before they could have ever heard it.

But I digress.

8. Rizoh Says:

Clyde, I’m not surprised. Def Jam’s selsheet for Red Gone Wild has the original release date listed as 11/15/05.

LOL.

Maybe someone needs to get on Jay’s ass like they did Puff during the “Let The Lox Go” series 1 & 2. Let’s just hope Def Jam doesn’t say ‘fuck it’ and drop the album with no promotion like they did Mef.

9. Sean Carter Says:

Let’s just hope Def Jam doesn’t say ‘fuck it’ and drop the album with no promotion like they did Mef.

WE WILL,

S. Carter

10. Nana Says:

12. Rizoh Says:

Jay, if that’s really you please don’t do The Rap Up like you did Mobb Deep. I got ya whole catalog, if that means anything.

13. Layla Says:

jay’s playing games with us lol

14. Ron Brynaert Says:

Of course no “Growth,” but can Jay at least put Budden’s version of Metallica’s Unforgiven out fercrissakes.

15. Ivan Says:

LMFAO @ Budden not even on the list….”The Growth” should be renamed to “The Death”…Budden will be dead by the time he drops..lol

Anyways, I have a feeling they’re gonna dog Red like they did Mef like S. Carter said…

Rumor has it that Mef will be dropped from Def Jam……

I love Jay and all but he’s doing a shttty job….

16. Rizoh Says:

Oh shit, that’s right. No Budden. Man, amazon was right…2010. lol

17. Fezz Says:

Of course no “Growth,” but can Jay at least put Budden’s version of Metallica’s Unforgiven out fercrissakes.

22. Bailey Says:

23. John Moran Says:

LL seen the future. I doubt he’ll renew that contract with the way shit is going.

Nas will prolly go back to Sony

Ludacrs will be the only one on DJ after all

24. Seth Says:

That Jeezy album is going to be serious.

25. esbee Says:

Folks calm down..all this is subject to change at any minute. Some ppl could get pushed forward others pushed backwards. I thought Nas was coming out before Jay? Hmmm..

26. esbee Says:

..and why is everyone blaming every decision on Jay? LOL..let’s not forget there are other ppl who actually run the label’s daily activities like hmm..L.A. Reid for example?

27. Hot Air Says:

true story L.A.Reid actually overrules Jay’s decisions there

28. Rizoh Says:

Fuck it, it’s ALL Jay’s fault.

29. Nana Says:

Jay needs to really retire and focus on his artists, then niggas’ll stop blaming him for shit.

30. Magno Says:

lol at Paul Wall hyping up his own shit
someone needs to tell him how wack he truly is

31. Dandy Says:

Def Jam is still the illest hiphop label regardless
