This smells like a setup to me. You mean to tell me the RIAA had to wait for this amount of years before coming on to arrest Drama? Like they couldn’t do this earlier? What are they arresting him for anyway? It’s not like the artists he’s been working with didn’t agree to jump on and do records..I mean everyone wanted to do a tape with him. I just wanna know why they’re arresting him…
These dudes can’t kill hip hop.

d:) Says:
It’s illegal, it’s tax evasion. Now think about how much illegal money Drama has made through GG…the RIAA will hit him hard just to make an exemple of him.
|
| 13. |
esbee Says:
I mean we don’t know the whole story of course…if he didn’t declare taxes that’s one thing and that would be the IRS themselves not the RIAA coming after him. RIAA got no business going after tax evaders at least not to my knowledge, I could be wrong…
The only illegal side of what he’s doing with mixtapes is the artists giving him exclusive songs that are to appear on albums which the record labels/companies own masters of or artists that have clauses in their contract preventing them from just doing records with other ppl. Don’t forget record labels do reach out to DJ’s of his stature in order to break artists in, it’s cheaper promo for them, they themselves know this.

i think it’s pretty safe to say that the RIAA is trying to make an example out of these guys or that some hater DJ snitched them out and gave the Feds some misinformation. either way, this thing stinks to high heaven, and i hope these guys are back on sirius friday night for their weekly show. if they get good defense, i don’t think these charges will stick, but then again don’t know their exact charges

True but sad.
I’m sure there’s plenty of unsolved murders in ATL, but they’d rather arrest mixtape DJs. Wow.

From what I heard: 50,000 CD’s were tooken up as evidence and then re-recorded, then destroyed.
I also heard the FED also took up their cars too and shut down their official website.
Crazy shit.

Pretty sure CDs can’t be “re-recorded”

Illmatic620 Says:
Yes they can, they can be burnt again, all the CDs could be ripped to a HD, or burnt again to another CD, dont see the the point of reburning, ripping and keeping originals as evidence makes sense
