Jump off Joe…He is def one of the best out..it’s like he turns it ON when he wants to…
Now I’d like to see weezy and him go at each other..though I doubt that might happen if weezy doesn’t bite the bait other than “Joe who? He ain’t got no money, he’s been on the shelf etc, etc bla bla bla”
I dunno if I’d agree weezy is overrated. At least not with level-headed human beings. The stans may say he’s the best out mainstream-wise doing it…but that’s about it.

Hi, haters..lol
I’ve never been a fan of Joe Buddens. Tryed to listen to the freestyles and songs ppl hyped but just not a fan. But I do like Wayne and I’d be pissed if Wayne took the time to mention Buddens name…ever. I don’t even want to hear him say Buddens who!

wayne is definitely overhyped. Juelz and him trying to redo “black republicans” was laughable. I’ve never heard some whine the way wayne does.

I like how as soon as Esbee says among level-headed human beings, we get a Weezy fanboy on the site, haha
But Budden is one of the nicest out! There were too many punchlines in that freestyle for him not to be one of the nicest!

ian Says:
I’m a Joe Budden fan but real talk: nobody cares what he has to say about anything in 2007, least of all whether Lil Wayne is overrated or not. Wayne is one of, if not the, biggest MC’s in the game right now and no amount of hate from a mad rapper who hasn’t dropped an album in 4 friggin’ years is gonna change that.
|
| 16. |
esbee Says:
ian, come on man..what’s budden to be mad for? It’s not like wayne…is feeding budden, putting food on his table and whatnot.
Why can’t ppl be free to give their own opinion on their peers strengths/weaknesses? Why’s everyone in hip hop so darn scared of saying what everyone else thinks/knows? Why can’t folk just be honest and sincere without trying to pull the next man down?
I think that’s what budden was doing, just being honest ‘cos he is right..weezey has had some very questionable and not so great moments on the mic. If you don’t know or accept that I question your judgment of what’s dope..and not..

DT Says:
[In response to Ian]
I think you forgettin’ that they asked Joe how he felt about Lil Wayne…he didn’t just come out the blue and say, “Fuck this guy, he’s wack, I’ll kill him, blaaaat”. And even after they asked, it’s not like he sat there tearing him apart. He said what a lot of us already felt. When Wayne’s on, he’s nice as hell (”Ambitionz” freestyle, for instance)…but when he’s off, this dude is way off (Young Money and we on like the television!). Dude even went one further and said that a lot of the not-so-nice shit that Wayne spits could probably be attributed to the grind since he’s droppin’ so much each month. Mad Rapper? Disgruntled Poster.
Basics, forreal. I’m lookin’ for Drought 3, I’ll cop the next Dedication tape, and I’ll more than likely fucks with the new Carter album…but Joe ain’t say nothing that the rest of us weren’t already thinking.

Sorry, folks. I haven’t had Internet for 2 days.

“Young Money and we on like the television!”
What’s even funnier is someone trying his damn best to defend that line. LOL!
Wayne makes one strong album (Tha Carter II = best southern rap album of 05 hands down) while blatantly biting–and he admits this himself–Hov’s delivery and folks wanna go ga-ga for duke? Wayne’s ok but to call him “the best rapper alive” or one of the best is reaching. There are sooooo many factors to consider when you’re talking about the best:
originality
social impact
longevity
freestyle abilities
battle skills
concepts
poetic value
charisma
wordplay
flavor
overall influence
substance
storytelling skills
live performance, just to name a few

Well to be fair I never heard the actual interview so I’m not sure what the context was for Joe’s commments and was just reacting to what I read here. If I was him though, I would stick to promoting my own career rather than commenting on anyone else’s!

The thing is, he even said that he loves Wayne, so there’s no hatin’ going on there…just a man expressing his honest opinion.
And I’m glad he’s starting to put some of this shit to rest regarding Mood Muzik 3 and his sophomore album. Hopefully, he can get that sophomore album out so that haters can stop acting like he’s wack.
