-Apparently, Curtis doesn’t want to share the spotlight with Kanye. He wants Hov to pushback Ye’s album. I think one of these guys will just have to swallow their pride and back the f*ck down. Better yet, they need to go ahead and slug it out and let consumers decide. Isn’t it sad enough that they’re dropping on 9/11 (of all dates)? [About]

Awesome @ Bill O’ Reilly, guess he ran out of ppl to point fingers at…

2. esbee Says:

Is 50 trying to goad Hov? Seriously? ‘Cos Hov’ won’t back down at least LA Reid prolly won’t, its Def Jam vs. Interscope, does 50 even realize that?

3. Rizoh Says:

Nah, he’s looking at it more like “50 vs Jay-Z.” Notice how he says “his people are smart” before saying, “and i think he’s smart.”

publicisty stunt!
50 knows what he’s doing

They should both come out on 9/11. It’ll be a great thing for hip hop and the music industry in general to have 2 heavyweight releases like that come out head-to-head. I guarantee that’ll drive cats to the stores. It’s like the hip hop version of the Blur vs. Oasis battle in the UK back in the late 90’s britpop hey day.

I think Ye will smash him creatively but 50 is gonna ultimately win the sales belt cos I hear “I Get Money” EVERYWHERE in NYC right now. It feels like it just exploded in the last 2-3 days.

My predictions for right now (subj to revision when the official ship #’s are announced): Ye will do 4-500K and 50 will do 600-750K. Both amazing feats in their own right if accurate.

The Hip-Hop Twin Towers will be dropping on 9/11. Wow! Def Jam & Interscope? Pshhhhh…. It’s al-Qaeda’s doing!!!

7. Ivan Says:

…oh, and finally, an issue BillO and I can finally agree on….

8. esbee Says:

I understand too @ Riz, but you and I both know its really laughable, Jay’s artist is competing with 50 himself..lol. This is not even a direct head-to-head competition and I know its been a while since 50 has tried to doggedly get at Jay for whatever reason.

This should be interesting. However, it’d suck for 50 if Ye’ beat him sales-wise. I wonder what ye’ has to say in all this..

9. esbee Says:

@ Ian: Don’t you think its a tad lame for the music industry? Imo, and in a lot of ppl’s opinions they take a major L..

Again this industry is on the brink of collapse..for them to stoop this low to pit these guys directly against each other.

It’s all friendly competition. Curtis is keeping with the persona that made him a multi-millionaire, i.e. this is my turf and you better not even think of setting up shop…..or should I say it’s more like 50 saying my sleeper hold is more deadly then yours. They have been doing this since 50’s “How to rob” single. Fiddy takes a jab a Jay, then Jay responds with the “I’m about a dollar, what the f#@k is 50 cent” response.

At the end of the day they’ll both cross paths again somewhere (like that picture that was posted here a couple of months back), drink some of that expensive ass champipple and laugh about all the money they made off of this.

11. Donny F Says:

@ esbee-They music industry won’t collapse anytime soon because those greedy sum-bitches will just invent another way to rob us all. (See ringtones)

12. Rizoh Says:

it’d suck for 50 if Ye’ beat him sales-wise.

^^If this were the late 90’s I’d say yeah it’s a possibility.

On a different note, the music industry is not dead. In fact it’s not going to die but it’ll definitely go through some weird phases that you and i may not be able to envision right now.

13. esbee Says:

Yep but I think I meant to say the format we once knew will be dead very soon, they prolly will find another way but right now as far as selling albums…eeeennh.

14. Rizoh Says:

^True words

An excerpt on a piece I’m writing about the Michael Vick situation:

Is this all that different from the Kentucky Derby? Rich, white men throw saddles, reigns, and masks on an animal, whip the shit out of it with a leather strap and call it a sport. It’s like slavery, but better!

Furthermore, we watch it. We enjoy it. We enjoy it so much that we bet on it. We win and lose hundreds, thousands of dollars on the track every race. And no, them horses ain’t dieing. Not initially anyway. But you a fool if you don’t think that shit ain’t speeding the process up. In any event, we call that sport. Not only is it sport, it’s high-class, upper-echelon sport. Somethin’ real white and snooty. Its elevated to the same status as golf and tennis, on a different plateau than football, futbol, baseball, basketball, etc. But none of these dudes is killers. None of these riders is being indicted, tried, or tested. They’re killing animals over the span of time, for your entertainment. And when that animal gets sick or too old to race anymore, the fuck you think they do to them? Just some food for thought.

I don’t agree with the way they did the dogs in, but we live in a society that’s about a stone’s throw away from dog fighting being legal, at which point it would surely be considered the next big thing. FOX execs are cleaning up puddles of their own drool as I type this. The system is fucked up. But what do you expect? We’re a nation that finds it’s roots in rape, slavery, and violence. When you shit everywhere, eventually the room where you eat is going to start to stink.

Welcome to America. It’s a vicious circle.

Billy O’racist is at it again. I’m pretty sure all I heard him say is: Drugs/Crime=Blacks/Rap.

And I can’t wait for ‘Ye to drop the album of the year against loose change.
I might go by the JaRule album just to make 50 mad…kidding
