Def Jam Release Schedule – 3rd Quarter

Def Jam’s 3rd Quarter game plan includes a DTP reunion, a fresh disc from Babyface, a futuristic entry from the college dropout, and another LP from Beans, who is expected to move units on the strength of his street credibility and fashion sense. Without further ado, here’s the July – September lineup for the Black Oasis:

  • Babyface, TBA,
    September 18
  • Beanie Sigel, The Solution
    September 25
  • Disturbing Tha Peace, Strength in Numbers
    August 28
  • Kanye WestGraduation
  • August 21

  • Small World, World Premiere
    September 18
  • Sterlig Simms, Worth Your While
    TBA
  • Warren G, Regulate…G Funk Era (2 CD Special Edition)
    July 17

Defintely looking foward to that Small World Lp, dude is a beast. The DTP compilation looks good too minus chingy though.

A whole post just about the def jam release schedule?! WTF?? Why?

3. James Says:

^It’s not like posts are a rapidly vanishing natural resource. (I keed!)

4. J To The A.A.P. Says:

Kanye’s the only release that got me really interested on there. I’ll give Beans a spin to decide if it’s worth my time when it comes out though.

BTW, a double disc special edition for Regulate? The lead single was great but Warren barely has enough decent material to fill one disc. And even though I’m a sucker for the deluxe double editions of classic albums I could think of a couple albums in Def Jam’s catalogue a lot more deserving of this treatment than this one.

Ian, I wouldn’t do these release schedule type posts if people didn’t care about them.

FOxy is no longer on Def Jam. Where have you been?

7. Rizoh Says:

^Why then is her page still on Def Jam?

8. Rizoh Says:

Oh yeah, and all you biting ass websites that posted this schedule without credit get no love from me. Not you, Adam. You’re family.

9. Al Says:

no megan rochelle?

I don’t really get it re: this being post-worthy although, unlike J To The A.A.P., I’m actually kind of psyched to hear about a double-disc reissue on Warren G through reading this so I’ll give U a pass, Riz :D

Yeah he was no super MC but that album was immaculately produced and had amazing pop songs on it. It was THE perfect distallation of the G-Funk aesthetic in the wake of The Chronic’s total takeover of hip hop back in 92/93.

Ian, stop hating on the Black Oasis.
