Hip hop is growing up. Computers aren’t going anywhere. If he were a real artist, he wouldn’t care how much money he was making or not making; he’d be making music. He and his music would be evolving with the change in medium (the internet).

I’ve got to agree wit Busta. I was 17 when I began making my own beatz, recording my own songs, designing my own cd covers, and running my own marketing group. I did this all with a PC, a closet, mxl mic, and a pro tools le recording system. The game has totally changed. I clear, roughly, 35 g’s by selling 5000 copies of my own shit @ 7 bucks a piece. Back then I did the shit cause I didn’t have the money to spend on studio time, so I made my own studio. I feel you Bus…,but things will never be the same.

i’m sick and tired of artists blaming the state of hip hop (and the music industry in general) on the internet! maybe if yall so called artists actually made a GOOD ALBUM that is worth the money, you wont have to worry about downloading, dumb ass! the industry talks about people who download music for free on the net are “ripping off the artists and labels”. WHAT!!! first of all, anybody who’s ripping off artists IS the record labels by making big money off of albums, while in most cases, the artist barely make any dollars. second, the industry been ripping off fans for years! i bought plenty of albums over the years, and some were good, but most of them were wack as hell!!! that’s why i dont buy albums that much anymore, unless i heard some of the album(not just the single)in advance and its good. the problem is internet, its imbalance! the commercial radio and t.v. plays the same songs to death! people think hip hop is what they see on tv, when there is much more to hip-hop than what the capitalists decide to show on the regular.
