Personally I think their bars focused on the idea and subject of the song..so naturally Nas will rhyme about Jacob, ’sides dude is the most popular hip hop jeweler…so there..

I think ppl’s expectations are way too high for both so I try not to get caught up and just demand for great music and this song to me is just that..its got charisma, great memorable lines from both and that really is all I need..

I feel its better than Black Republicans on these first few listens, I’ll wait it out later..

I did think they’d trade bars i hope they decide to do that at some point, that’d be a great and possibly better look..I see they’re developing some sort of chemistry and I think that’s even more important before going into a full fledged album that everyone seems to be craving for.

I thought the Nas verse was great. It was focused, had broad concepts and a good amount of swagger. The jacob thing was the only real played out device in it. Who else would fit a google earth reference in a rhyme and in the right context? Come on!

i just listened to the Em track and I’m sure most people will disagree, but this shows Jay genius. The song is called ‘Success’ and he went through his mind and picked off another dope mc using the word success, I think it’s only fitting here. IMO.

This track is a banger they both come hard and there is nothing wrong with a little bit of creativity. Alot of you expected this and that, that is what is good about the track they done the unexpected. Jay-Z had a way better verse than Nas cus Nas was a bit plain but they both came hard.

BTW it is not a Just Blaze production this track was produced by No I.D. (Kanye West mentor). He has alot of production credits for some of your favorite tracks that you may not have noticed he produced so show some respect he is a great producer.

@ 5- Bro, alot of tracks u hear nowadays have been taken from samples and replayed by producers. Case in point, T.I.’s biggesr hit “What u Know” was part of a Roberta Flack song “Gone Away”. You’d be suprised how many people do it.

Production wise: The organs are super nice and the drums are bangin and crisp it’s just that the snaredoesn’t hit too much, there’s too much space for the meody

NaS: No problem with the Jacob verse since it’s well written and doesn’t include no YOUUAAaa lol no but seriously the jewelry lines weren’t in abundance so he smashed the mic

Jay-Z verses: Catchy ”let that ho breathe” line, good lyrics but it’s def weaker than his ex-nemesis rhymes!

I don’t think I qualify as an old head but if no one has ever noticed Jay-Z bites at least one rhyme on just about every track. He’s done it less and less as time goes on but thats because he gets called out on it every time he does it.
