When I first peeped this, I thought it wasnt really them, but damn this shit is fucked up. I sort of knew this was going to happen but didnt want to say anything. I didnt think it was going to be on this type of level. Didnt one of the Sean Bell shooting victims do the same thing?

This is a classic example of how editing two separate instances together can make things look bad: the photos with the money could have been taken before the photos of the guys in the Jena 6 shirts. We don’t know if those are the donations (and they wouldn’t all be in cash, now would they), that’s just what the titles say.

If you look at the “Free The Jena 6″ photos separately, they could have been taken to show they appreciate the support of the public — we don’t really know. But if you look at those after the myspace photos with money, you’re going to assume they’re gloating.

Don’t take everything at face value. Don’t let this one web video someone patched together dishearten you. Granted, it’s really stupid of them to leave these photos lying around right now, but we don’t know if they’re really going Uncle Scrooge with the donations.
