This video is 2 months old but it was severely slept on. It shows RZA wrecking a cipher at some Hip-Hop Chess Federation event. Even if RZA can’t ride a beat to save his life, he always brings some ear-grabbing lyrics to the table. Plus, he’s really rhyming off the dome. Still one of the illest producer-MCs ever.

Lyrically, his verses on “Sunshower” and “12 Jewels” are two RZA favorites of mine. As well as “Tragedy” from the Rhyme and Reason soundtrack. The video (directed by the GZA) is a classic as well. |
