Astro Says: December 15th, 2007 at 8:36 am Like I said on nahright : Joey had the right to treat this mixtape like an album when he pushed it back several times and planned a release party ’cause its structure and the productions is super professional and cohesive…you can feel the emotions and energy behind the songs ! |

Randy Exclusive Says: December 15th, 2007 at 8:48 am Yo Riz, outta all the ill lines Budden kicks on the mixtape, why is my favorite line, “I told Joey I brush my teeth with colgate/Next thing you know he brush his teeth with colgate/Back of my mind I’m like Jumpoff no wait…” LMAO |

esbee Says: December 15th, 2007 at 6:57 pm As much as I got love for Mouse..he’s digging a hole for himself with “talk to ‘em” that is all I can say at this point. I’ll wait to see how things unfold. |

T2 Says: December 15th, 2007 at 8:17 pm Budden is wack for goin at Hov I never expected that from him all people are debating is the Hov diss and not the entire mixtape. How does that benefit Budden? It gets him a little more recognition but not for his mixtape only the diss record. |

ifokust Says: December 15th, 2007 at 9:20 pm why, is jayz royalty? shoot, even beans showed his frustration with def jam (jayz) even though his album wasn’t as good as it could’ve been. bottom line, jayz is beating a dead horse; give up the albums and focus on building the label and putting artists out like JOE BUDDEN. |

moneda Says: December 15th, 2007 at 10:09 pm Anyone who thinks Joe is “wack for goin’ at Hov” should dig a hole and bury his or herself. My opinions are this: 1. That track is fire and completely on point. Whether or not you agree about what Joe should be getting recognition for, you really can’t blame Joe. He can put out 50 tapes not mentioning anyone and people will still sleep on his skill, and then when he feels the need to express frustration on one track people will be up in arms about why he felt it was necessary he go at Person X. Anyone choosing to censor themselves to avoid the backlash of some vocal (ignorant) minority shouldn’t be an MC. |

esbee Says: December 16th, 2007 at 3:41 am @moneda: No one’s saying joe can’t go at whomever he wants to go at…but when you are on a label and you diss your label out in public don’t expect to drop any records. It’s pretty simple. It’s a fact that ppl seem to forget, you don’t poop where you eat. He did it and he should be thankful they let him go out of his contract. Def Jam didn’t have to. ‘Sides it wasn’t like before Jay-Z became President that Joe Buddens was selling or even dropping an album..ppl are quick to forget. Whilst Jay-Z might not be the best record label president out there if rappers claim to be men then they ought to take hold of their own destinies and not wait for handouts. it is the music business, not the music welfare service. |

dre Says: December 16th, 2007 at 6:59 am fuck that its become the “pop music business” |

Droll SteVan Says: December 16th, 2007 at 11:20 am Sweet site. You ever listen to the Streets, Example, or Mitchell Brothers? Check out this song I found by some aspiring talent. Thought you might get a kick out of it… ignore the video if possible. |

T2 Says: December 16th, 2007 at 2:14 pm @ dre. You can look at it like that or you can look at it like the dope artist dont sell anyway so what is the point in spending marketing dollars on dudes that dont sell records. Also Hip Hop is the most effected genre for downloading we had Styles, Ghost, Scarface, 2Pac etc all released albums last week not 1 sold over a 100,000 records in their first week. |

moneda Says: December 16th, 2007 at 3:34 pm “‘Sides it wasn’t like before Jay-Z became President that Joe Buddens was selling or even dropping an album..ppl are quick to forget.” Nobody’s forgotten. How many albums DID Def Jam put out for him? How was his promotion? How has promotion been for artists on that label who haven’t already gone multiplatinum (and even for some who HAVE gone multi, i.e. Meth |

moneda Says: December 16th, 2007 at 3:35 pm … and The Roots) or don’t have a vagina, over the past year or two? Come on people. How long is a nigga suppose to grind while a label has a grip around his neck? The dude’s released multiple mix tapes without his label so you cannot tell me it’s ’cause dude was lazy. There’s a problem with this label and Joe is shedding light on that mu’fugga. I’ll applaud any artist who does… except 50. Heh. |
| 20. |
Gmoney Says: December 16th, 2007 at 7:02 pm first of all saying superman died has nothing to do with what happen at the label so joe is just as wack as jim jones and camron for dissing a nigga on record when he never said anything about you EVER… so its not shedding light as this guy moneda says, bottom line jay-z is the reason hip-hop sales are down not downloading… he invented the internet so nobody can sell records, only he can go multi multi platinum and everybody else can flop………LOL |

moneda Says: December 16th, 2007 at 10:41 pm Look this up, Gmoney, ’cause I’m sure you don’t know what it means even though you’re now guilty of it: straw man argument. |

esbee Says: December 18th, 2007 at 12:06 am @Moneda: Buddens himself confessed in an interview not too long ago that he (Buddens) himself refused to let Def Jam hear anything and put that into mixtapes – MM 1, 2 and now 3. Like I said before fam, this is the music business, not the freaking music welfare service. The contract Buddens signed with Def Jam was to make a certain amount of dollars for Def Jam and possibly make some for himself while doing that. What part of that don’t ppl understand? If you don’t send in the music to the record company, how the heck you expect them to market dude? A |
