Shipped from Loserville

19-0-book.jpg

Apparently, the Patriots underrated the Giants so much that they assumed they had won the game before it kicked off. Not only did the Pats file to copyright 19-0, they went as far as securing a deal to publish a book on their would-be legacy. Ehnnn…didn’t happen. Their shirts and other merchandise bearing 19-0 will now clothe poor kids in third world countries.

Many of the shirts say “19-0″ — a reference to the Pats’ quest for a perfect record. Instead, the Giants’ victory ended the AFC champions’ season at 18-1. The losers’ gear will be packed and sent to third-world countries by World Vision, which works to improve the lives of poor children in more than 100 countries. [Full Story]

Their loss illustrates that you can’t count anyone out in life (or in sports, for that matter). I’m looking at you, Miami Heat. There’s still hope for you to — nah, not this year.

that’s both hilarious and fucking sad at the same time. i was wondering at the end of the super bowl “i know they have to make hats with both teams as champs - what happens to the hats made for the losers?”

i just think them doing this was a step too far. at least they got rid of those tapes!

Isn’t this the same as newspapers, accesories, clothing of whoever wins being printed the night before? I mean that’s what I liken this to…

^True. But they went a step further by securing a deal on a book titled 19-0. They also filed to copyright 19-0 and 19-0 The Perfect Season. That’s what makes all the more hilarious.
