Nas - Untitled Album Cover

According to Billboard, this is going to be the cover for Nas’ untitled album.

Although the album won’t be titled “N*gger” as originally planned, its cover — an image of Nas’ bare back with welts similar to the ones slaves endured from lashings — “speaks for itself. It says ‘n*gger’ real loud,” he said.

That image was on display in the room during the screening last night but at the time was not being trumpeted as the official cover. A Nas spokesperson confirms it will be used as such.

Yawn.

Yawn???? What kind of fucking coon are you??? If you are not impressed then you are obviously someone who cannot understand the importance and the significance of what Nas is doing.. and therefore you should kill yourself. The nerve of you to be a so called “Hip Hop” site. Damn uncle Tom ass house niggers!

The cover art is dope, even if it’s slightly dramatic. The year is 2008, not 1928.

Yawning at Nas’ bait and switch campaign, though. If he feels so strongly about detoxifying the n-word, why balk to label pressure? Why not name it N—er or N or say ‘F–k you to Universal’ and drop the album independently, under an alias? There are 10 million different ways he could’ve handled it differently? Nas is one of my all-time favorite MCs, but he needs to be called out on his antics sometimes.

That is a powerful album cover/image man 4 real. That speaks of all that enslaved Africans have had 2 put up withover the years. So when I think about some of these coon a** negroes out here still talkin’ about hustlin’, cookin’ up crack over the stove and all of the other associated cooneration and bullsh*t I’m thinkin’ that those are the ones that need 2 see this image and that need a slap in the back of the head.

How ironic that a record label won’t let a black man call his album NIGGER … but its o.k 4 him 2 act and talk like one in all of its stereotypical glory as long as they profit.

that last sentence is well said ^^ @ UNDERSTANDING

although I feel Rizoh in a sense because as much as I love Nas sometimes I feel like some of this stuff is a publicity stunt - is this album about leaving an imprint on the industry and having an MC host an honest discussion on racism/stereotypes in America, or is this a stunt with the sole intent of getting us to pay attention to Nas again?

I’m cautiously optimistic…

8. anthology Says:

i dont think it’s a publicity stunt cuz first of all most ppl that know about the album is his fans anyways. as far as mtv is concern the most anticipated album is the cater along with jay z, kanye and snoop as being the hottest acts and hiphop and all but one already have their albums out…..how can you anticipate a album when its already out?

9. AWOL Says:

Aaah..A breath of fresh air.
Nas is the greatest MC alive, fuck what you heard. As far as Def Jam and universal are consern shame on them. How hippocritical can you get. It’s cool for rappers to use the word NIGGER and they make millions but when a real ngga like Nas wants to use it on the cover to bring up a dialogue it’s a problem. They just lost my respect.
But not important the album is crazy my new favorite Nas joint..

Association breeds simularity that’s why I stay wit’ real smart niggas till six niggas carry me poverty’s a mind state time waits for no man but no man wants to die a poor man wit’ no plan.
Tell me people, why every time we as blacks speak on our struggle and history they call it reverse racism..
