Obama Seals Democratic Nomination
Even though the AP called it for Obama as early as 2:00 pm yesterday, I waited to see if anything would change overnight. You never know with the Clinton Machine. But it looks like Obama has the nomination locked down for sure this time. His 2,156 delegate tally puts him well above the 2,118 required to win the nomination.

On the other side, Hillary (1,923 delegates) is keeping her campaign alive, saying she won’t make any decisions until she’s met with party leaders and supporters “to determine how to move forward.” You would think that, given how fragmented the Democratic Party is at this point, she would have more class to accept her defeat graciously and endorse Obama already. Rather than congratulate Barack for winning, she congratulated him for his campaign.
At any rate, this is a delightful moment and it’s one worth celebrating. What began as a long shot bid has culminated into a historic victory.
