Amy Winehouse was caught on tape by her shady husband singing something ludicrous, to say the least. Does that make her racist? Sure, Amy needs to get off the crack pipe and get back to making good music ASAP, but I don’t understand the outrage and ‘racist’ label this video has been attracting.
Racist to me is a grandmother who teaches her 3-year old to call blacks “nigger” and such. That’s ‘racist’.

When you define racism as power + prejudice, power usually is not defined at the individual level. So I would argue that she could be racist. But I dont think that video proves that. I do think that she needs to answer for that video though and explain what was going on. Although the needles, etc seem to do a good job of that. |
