Chart Report: 7/2/08

three 6 mafia

My advice to most rappers: Hit up the Work Source and start putting in applications ASAP. I know I’m beating a dead horse here, but hip-hop sales are still looking ridiculously weak. Wayne’s Carter III is still hanging on to the No.2 spot in the Billboard 200 chart. Three-6-Mafia turned in some decent first-week numbers. The rest are pretty much on a fast track to Wood Island.

Here’s a breakdown of this week’s 10 best selling hip-hop albums:

Chart Position >> Artist >> Album >> This Week’s Sales >> Sales to Date
2. Lil Wayne - Tha Carter III - 209,305 [1,525,516]
5. Three Six Mafia - Last 2 Walk - 76,722 [76,909]
11. Plies - Definition of Real 42,893 [325,472]
38. N.E.R.D. - Seeing Sounds - 13,258 [116,953]
54. Bun-B - II Trill - 10,718 [206,576]
58. Rick Ross - Trilla - 10,456 [599,178]
71. Linkin Park - Minutes to Midnight - 9,153 [2,462,598]
99. Immortal Technique & DJ Green Lantern - The 3rd World - 7,306 [7,473]
110. 2 Pistols - Death Before Dishonor - 6,594 [22,388]
111. RZA AS Bobby Digital - Digi Snacks - 6,565 [6,723]
