Rock-n-Roll Theme Park — Is Hip-Hop Next?
The rock ‘n’ roll theme park in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina sounds like a cool place to be on a beautiful weekend. The park features amusements themed around rock bands and artists. There’s no shortage of rock-themed attractions at this first-of-its-kind music park. From the Led Zeppellin rollercoaster and Abbey Road artwork sidewalk (above) to The Whammy Bar and wild punk pit in Piccadilly Circus. Which got me thinking. Wouldn’t be so bad if someone built one of these things for hip-hop.

Rap music is still a relatively young genre, but hip-hop’s other elements (breaking, graf, etc) have been around for ages. There are countless artifacts and concepts to build around.
It would be interesting to see a hip-hop-themed park, replete with all of the genre’s idiosyncrasies. Hey I’ll even throw out some ideas to boot. Kool Herc Cafe doesn’t sound so bad. How about a mausoleum exclusively dedicated to Lil Wayne’s styrofoam cups?
What would you like to see at a hip-hop theme park?
