About 3 months ago, I had an opportunity to talk to El-P, and during the interview I asked him about upcoming Def Jux releases. He revealed that, in addition to his new solo album, they were working on a supergroup album that would include Lateef the Truth Speaker and Gift of Gab. It sounded exciting on the surface, but the skeptic in me dismissed it as one of those ambitious projects that would eventually get swept under the carpet. (CRS anyone?)

Fortunately, I was wrong. The Mighty Underdogs will, in fact, release their super album Droppin’ Science Fiction this October with guest appearances from MF Doom, Mr. Lif, DJ Shadow, and many more.
