Daddy Yankee Backs John McCain

John McCain has picked up an unlikely endorsement from latin hip-hop star Daddy Yankee. I doubt that McCain had even heard of Daddy Yankee before the endorsement, but stranger things have happened. The fact they chose to announce this on the same day the Democratic convention kicked off shows that Team McCain intends to divert attention from the convention by all means necessary.

As for Yankee, you have to hand it to him. This was such a brilliant publicity stunt. Let’s face it, endorsing Obama won’t get you any attention in the music biz these days when big enchiladas like Nas and Jigga have already thrown their weight behind the Democratic nominee. Plus, I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve opened an email only to see a piss poor Obama tribute by some no-name rapper.

Wanna make headline? Endorse John McCain.

Hahaha I’m not sure if other rappers will follow this method of endorsing a white wrinkly old-man, but it is indeed a smart move on Daddy Yankee’s part – if only to get closer to that hot wife of John McCain’s.

Last I saw a list of famous guys who donated money. Obama got a lot of young famous people. Hillary old hollywood. And the real big guys both a donation. McCain only got from the CSI founder/producer.

So smart move from Yankee.

7. MDUBB Says:

seriously though their are a lot of Latino voters in Florida for instance, who vote republican, so it’s not that far of a stretch.

8. Hip Hop Made Me Do It Says:

I agree with MDUBB. I lived in Florida for about 5 years and the latinos voted for Republicans. So I can understand Daddy Yankee giving his support to John McCain.

Meh. And people ask me why I don’t agree with Hispanics saying ‘nigga’ or acting like they have the same struggles as black people.
