Obama/Biden It Is
Did you receive the email? If not, I got your back:
“I have some important news that I want to make official. I’ve chosen Joe Biden to be my running mate. Joe and I will appear for the first time as running mates this afternoon in Springfield, Illinois — the same place this campaign began more than 19 months ago.”
The Good
I like Biden as VP. He’s smart, insightful, and thoroughly eloquent. Not to mention that his extensive foreign relations experience will silence critics who say Obama’s unfit for the presidency because he’s inexperienced in that area. Plus the man has a great personal story: he suffered brain aneurysm a couple centuries ago and almost died.
The Bad
There’s one major caveat with Biden as VP and I’ll get to that in a minute. But first, I wanted to say that all the msm pundits hammering on Senator Biden for his controversial remarks really need to stop. Have we become so sedated as a society that it’s now a sin to speak your mind, even if it means occasionally making racist statements about Indians or saying that black people aren’t usually articulate? Moreso than Biden’s talkative nature, the main drawback with his choice is that it exaggerates Obama’s weakness in the areas where Biden is strong. Some will argue that the fact that Biden has spent more than half of his life in the U.S. Senate contradicts Obama’s message of change. Well, that’s only if you were naive enough to believe that Obama was going to change Washington politics by disavowing everybody in Washington.
All said and done, they both look presidential and vice-presidential respectively.
