Solange: “Stop Jocking Jay-Z”

“Stop jocking Jay-Z is what I have to say about that” – Solange Knowles

Solange flipped out on Fox 5 journalist the other day when they mentioned the recent sale of Jay-Z’s Vegas 40/40 bar. Unaware that the anchorwoman’s remarks did not actually air, Solange lashed out at her for being unprofessional. “I have to say, that was not a very professional introduction before. Please, don’t tie me into family and my brother-in-law’s establishment.”

Proceed for the “ridiculous clip” in question.

4chan Hacker Attacks Soulja Boy’s Myspace Account

A member of the notorious 4chan community sent rapper Soulja Boy a text message the other day, telling him to cough up $2,500 or kiss his MySpace account goodbye.

Says Soulja Boy in the video above: “I sent him a text message back. I said fuck you, bitch. Do what you do. This motherfucker got to be fucked up.” Then Soulja Boy contacted Interscope Records who in turn contacted MySpace and restored his account.”

The hacker also attacked Soulja Boy’s YouTube and Mac email and even sent out his password (it’s probably “supermandatho”) to everyone that cared. A 12-year old Soulja Boy fan took matters into his own hands and locked his idol’s YouTube account to keep it from being attacked by 4chan hackers.

Soulja Boy now claims he’s found the miscreant who hijacked his accounts and plans to teach him a lesson in his next video. We’ll see.

Kardinal Offishall – “Gimmie Some”

Kardinal Offishall – “Gimmie Some” (feat. The Dream)
I haven’t posted a crappy rap & R&B collaboration in a long while, so I figured I’d go ahead and break the rhythm. This appears on Kardinal Offishall’s Not 4 Sale album, slated for release on September 9th.

An MC I Care About Today: Rukus

Rukus – “Amnesia”
Rukus – “The Boom and The Bap”

If you have the nerve to call yourself Rukus, you better drag along some iron balls to back up your name. The term “rukus” or its correct usage “raucous” connotes more than its dictionary meaning (”boisterous and disorderly”). To hip-hop purists, the name calls to mind one of the best songs ever, “Bring da Ruckus.” And disciples of grassroots hip-hop can’t hear the word without thinking of the groundbreaking Rawkus Records. Yup, the same Rawkus that was kind enough to add me to its family of online tastemakers almost exactly a year ago. I’m not sure which of these hip-hop staples inspired Ruk’s stage moniker, but one thing’s undisputable: he wears it well.

The verdict on Rukus’ Can’t Forget LP after the gap.

Kanye: “I wish my momma could have seen this day”

As I was watching the official nomination of Obama as the Democratic Party’s presidential candidate, I occasionally thought of all the people that would’ve loved to see this moment had they been alive. Turns out I wasn’t alone in that sentiment.
