T-Pain and Lil Wayne to Release Joint Album (and Mixtape)
Fans of T-Pain’s robo-voice crooning and Lil Wayne’s brand of hip-hop will get two for the prize of one when their T-Wayne project finally hits stores. The serial collaborators have recorded so many tracks together that they now have enough material for not one, but two records: a collaborative album and a street album (better known as mixtape).
T-Pain described the project as a “visual love” while speaking to MTV Base recently:
“I’ve been doing an album with Lil Wayne. It’s called T-Wayne: The Project. It’s basically just going to be an array of things, just a visual love. The two artists you’ve seen collaborate with everyone except each other. When you see us together, it’s crazy right now. We already have what we’ve done. We’re gonna keep going till they tell us to stop. We might even put out a mixtape. We’ve got so many songs that we just might do a T-Wayne mixtape too.”

With both artists constantly on the go while churning guest verses and hooks at a breakneck pace, no one can fault you for asking, “How the fuck did they find the time to record all that?” Easy. They’ve been emailing each other tracks back and forth. And when you’re as commercially successful as these two, adding a state-of-the-art studio to your tour bus is a given.
Pain and Wayne worked together on one of the singles from Tha Carter III, “Got Money,” as well as the lead cut from T-Pain’s Thr33 Ringz LP, “Can’t Believe It.”
