Barack Obama is our Next President

It’s officially over. Hope, change, and common sense prevailed over fear and injustice tonight. Obama didn’t just win, he won handily. He won blue states; he won red states; he won swing states. Who would’ve thunk that the same people that voted George W. Bush into office twice would turn the page in 2008? This is truly a watershed moment in American history, one that we will all remember for the rest of our lives.

Electoral Vote Count

  • Obama – 349

  • McCain – 163

Congratulations, America.

But seriously, my (white) friend Drew really summed up how this felt: “Man, doesn’t this… doesn’t this feel like a world war just ended?”

Indeed.

Yo, Riz. I don’t want to start a long story on your blog. But man, I feel proud.

I’m 20 Years old, got outta work today at 3:00 & voted for Obama. This is my first time voting.

I’ve just help make history, right now.

My mother’s uncle who has lived in south for awhile, was crying, knowing how racially intense it was growing up.

I’m just feeling extremely proud right now, and even though, I really ain’t no one of importance, I just wanna thank everyone that voted.
We just made fuckin’ history. And R.I.P. to the people that weren’t here to witness this.

Did anyone catch Ralph Nader being interviewed around 1am-ish about Obama winning? He essentially said that Obama needs to be sure that he’s representing Uncle Sam and not Uncle Tom. The host of the show (maybe it was MSNBC) was shocked and essentially gave him a chance to withdraw that comment. After Nader stood by it, the host said he just officially ended his own political career. Damn… can we breath? Dude is still mad salty he only had 1% of the country behind him during the primaries.

Greatest day in American history? Are you high? An inexperienced radical, that has never run a business, a town, or a state, has been put in charge of the free-world.
