The Most Wanted Rap Albums of 2009

So, let’s get this out the way right now: Detox is NOT No.1 on 2009’s most anticipated rap albums list, because we’ve been waiting for 2 million years to no avail. Thanks to the Legion of Procrastinators at Shady/Aftermath, Detox has graciously evolved into a cultural myth. Folklore. Legend. The greatest story never told. Banished from mortals, never to be heard except by supernatural beings powerful enough to morph into a fly. (Man, what I’d give to be a fly on Dre’s wall.) That’s the bad news. Now here’s the good news: 3 of the remaining 19 albums on this list are probably real.

I don’t think Kanye is calling his next album Good Ass Job. He was supposed to do that after Graduation but instead he went with 808’s and Heartbreak. I read something about him doing 4 songs for each season of the year and it was gonna be called Winter-Spring-Summer-Fall.

I definitely think that Jadakiss, Wale and Lil Wayne should be higher.

I can’t wait for Wale’s album, and if all 20 of these actually drop in 2009, than this is going to be a crazy year.
