Rockets’ Carl Landry Shot in Houston
After posting an all around great game against the Hornets last night, Carl Landry returned to Houston only to be greeted by gunshots. According to the Houston Chronicle, Landry suffered a gunshot wound to his left calf after being shot in downtown Houston earlier today. The Rockets front office called it a random act of violence.
“We are very thankful and relieved that Carl’s injuries were relatively minor and that he is doing well,” Rockets General Manager Daryl Morey said in a statement. “Carl was the victim of an apparent random act of violence early this morning after the team arrived from New Orleans. We are in the process of working with authorities to gather more information.”
The story goes that Landry was driving around 4:20 a.m. when another car bumped his vehicle. As he stepped out of his car to inspect the damage, two shots rang from the other vehicle. The second shot hit him in the leg. Landry’s fine for now, but he’s expected to miss about 3 weeks of action.
Let me find out someone from the Big Easy wasn’t too happy about last night’s loss and decided to take out his frustration on our 2nd best Power Forward. Luis Scola better beef up his security detail.
