West coast rap icon Ice-T has decided to stop bad mouthing teen hip-hop sensations on YouTube and do something about the state of our favorite musical genre. Iceberg is starting his own label. The Law & Order: SVU detective plans on readying a digitally-based label through EMI to bring artists that have a more “classic” sound into mainstream exposure.

Ice-T, who has been a very vocal opponent of today’s “bubblegum pop” sound in rap music, has already claimed to  have an artist from Los Angeles, a group called Certified from Washington State, another group named Born Twice from Houston and an emcee from New York, signed to his still unnamed label.

Everyone’s favorite Jamaica, Queens rapper was  spotted yesterday with none other than Ciara, Vivica A. Fox, Karrine Steffans “Gossip Girl” star Chance Crawford; unfortunately for Boo Boo’s fans the Vitamin Water-charged emcee will not be showing up in the show anytime soon.

The pictures were taken yesterday on the set of Twelve, an upcoming release which also stars Crawford, Keifer Sutherland (Jack Bauer in my book) and Emma Roberts. Anyone else think that’s quite the motley crew of actors? No one tell Tommy he didn’t get an invite.

According to Woooha, Twelve is about a young drug dealer as his  life comes crashing down in the wake of his cousin’s murder. Surprisingly 50 doesn’t play the main drug dealer. He just plays another one. Maybe Fif will make a new friend in Crawford and boost the visibility of G-Unit’s sneaker line to caucasian tweens. Once can only hope. Read the rest of this entry »

Apparently, some people don’t know the definition of the word “forever”, as in the phrase “Wu-tang forever”. And as it would turn out, Ludacris is not familiar with the idea that the Wu-tang Clan Ain’t Nothin’ to F with as evidenced by one of his song entitled Let’s Stay Together. Meth decided to speak up this week to straighten out some of the latest rumors.

“Even Ludacris, who I respect a lot, kind of upset me with a song he had where he mentioned Wu-Tang broke up. No, we didn’t break up! There has never been an official statement that said, ‘We’re done’ or ‘I’m out’. Judging by Bruno’s reaction, “The bitch is back, and she means business!” it’s safe to say that Lil Kim wowed the judges with her paso doble last night. I gather she’s been sneaking out of practice to work on her new album. Maybe she should reconsider her priorities. Hip-hop will be just fine without another Lil Kim album.
