after a second listen i will say 3/5. though i still HATE (say this 20 times over to get the full emotion of my hatred) the voice he uses most of the album.
It got better as it got closer to the end. I hope that the 2nd disc is going to start like this one ended, with the less depressed and insane and with more angry and fuck you.

I’ve only listened to the songs that leaked yesterday (Bagpipes from, Insane, My Mom) and the official singles (3am, We Made You), and haft to give the album a full and fair run though still, but from those songs I feel pretty safe in saying this album sucks with average being the best height it can hope to attain.
I can’t say I was expecting much from this album, cuz while most are using Em’s comeback as a platform to say he fell off, an honest assessment would conclude that he put out a wack album 4 ½ years ago with “Encore” sans 3 songs or so.
The guy is a legend, he put out a classic album (some say 2), and undoubtedly has spit some of the illest lines in the history of Hip Hop, but I think the time has finally come where his wack singles and 04-Present body of work has finial caught up to him

No way, this album is definitely going to grow on people. It has some extremely crazy lryics and awesome beats on it. Much better than encore, this is a four star album. I havent heard lyrics like this in quite a while. I listened to this album after meditating for a while and the words were all vibrating in my head. The way they stuck together was interesting. My favorite lyrics are on the stay wide awake song, the “jamaican” part of my mom, the 3rd verse of underground, the christopher reeve verse of medicine ball, and the “beautiful” song. Rizoh are you the same person as henry adaso, and if so could you tell us what you thought of the album? Oh and listen to the lyrics people. Also Camron is annoying as hell, have a peaceful and positive day everyone!

After giving the album a spin both sober and drunk, come to the conclusion that this is fucking DOPE!!!What he said about going back and having OCD for his lyrics, it worked….almost every line is crack…..beats are off the charts and go with what EM is saying….ignore the singles(except old time’s sake)..and all you that hate his flow, i agree but he don’t use it as much as you say he does on the album only a few songs….My Album Grade B+++++

i’m not taking anything from his talent and ability, but he should use the voice he used in underground way more.

he is a supreme lyricist. i just get tired of the same shit. there’s no variety to his albums -t here’s always the party song, always the drug song, always the murder song. he’s too good to limit himself.

I’ve had three go-rounds with this album. I find it to be amazing. The voice is a non issue for me, it’s just who Eminem is, and I happen to find great value in his voice work, it help spreads meaning within the songs.
There’s not many (any?) rappers that can touch his 1) delivery 2) syllable count 3) internal rhymes 4) multi syllable rhymes. I ENJOY listening to this album. It’s fun. It’s funny. Even with his self depreciating tone on the more serious songs. I find myself laughing out loud to the various lines.
As well, it’s daring. Sure, he covers a lot of the same content, but what do you want? He’s writing what he knows, and quite frankly, it’s better than being a boss and driving a car and selling bricks. There’s a very humble quality to the work even when he’s telling Nick Cannon to give it a rest. But, really, name someone else who’s daring enough to rap about pedophilia/incest/child molestation and make it something to laugh at?
The only flaw is “Well I can be as gentle and as smooth as a gentleman”. I mean, there’s not much he could have done with “gentle and” “gentleman” that would have fit in, but I guess that is just minor detail.
It makes me think other rappers should take a four year break and not release anything.
“Geez, you guys are so sensitive.”

Tobi A Says:
It’s honestly a very sick album. If you listen to it you realize it’s actually the same Eminem. The only problem is that stupid voice of his which gets annoying fast. In the past three years music has changed and Eminem hasn’t which is why a lot of people aren’t really feeling it but it’s still classic Eminem and it’s still a sick album.
It grows on you thats all.
