R.I.P. Dolla
By now you’ve probably heard that Atlanta rapper Dolla was shot and killed in L.A. this afternoon. As dumb luck would have it, my brother from another mother Ivan Rott was within the vicinity of a rapper’s death for just the 3rd time. Ivan was kind enough to string a few words on what he witnessed right after the shooting.
Proceed for Ivan’s personal account of the tragic incident.
“I was running a few errands in the area near the Beverly Center today at around 3:00 PM. I stopped by an ophthalmologist on 3rd Street. Afterwards, I made my walk to the Beverly Blvd. side of the Beverly Center to go to the CVS Pharmacy. Between 3rd Street and Beverly, there were LAPD cars and media vans covering the west side of La Cienega Boulevard. The entrance into the parking lot was taped off, and police officers were lined up along the taping. I initially asked a hostess of a restaurant what had happened. She told me she didn’t know. Then I asked a police officer. He told me someone had been shot. I was taken aback but not surprised, considering the congestion of police and media vehicles.
I couldn’t get much of a clear shot of what was going on within the parking lot entrance. I continued on my way to CVS and proceeded on my way back home (about 3 miles away from here). The first thing I did was turn on the TV and Christine Devine of FOX 11 News was reporting on “the suspected death of a rapper”. At the time I arrived at home, there seemed to still be some ambiguity about who had been shot and killed. Soon afterwards, the rapper’s identity was no longer a mystery. R.I.P. Dolla. To die in L.A…”
According to TMZ, a suspect has been identified in the shooting.
