50 Cent’s Glorified Mixtape ‘War Angel’ Is Upon Us
50 Cent has a new street album (fancy name for mixtape) scheduled for release (fancy name for megaupload) today. In an interview with MTV News, Fif specifically noted that War Angel is “a street album.”
Boo Boo explains the meaning behind the mixtape title:
“You know what it is, it’s a conflict. The exact opposite. I didn’t want to write Angel Demon. You know what I mean. It’s not the contrast between good and bad. But I think the content, the overall content on the actual project is something like.. if someone’s at war, I’m sure they’re saying their prayers. They believe they have angels around them. What would you call an angel around a soldier at war? That’s why I titled it that,”
And this:
“Creatively, this is not even a mixtape. That’s why I put LP next to it. My core audience will understand it immediately, and it’s written specifically for that.”
Oh, and he’s not done yet. 50 plans to drop two more mixtapes…sorry, “street” albums: Fourth of July and Sincerely Southside Part 2. He’ll then follow it up with a G-Unit mixtape and 49 diss songs to whoever happens to be on the Billboard chart at the time. After that, he’ll drop a new album. Maybe.
