Auto tune is killing the quality of hip hop. Every record sound the same…but if you listen to modern Rai music auto tune is on virturally every song. It has caught on internationaly and is changing the was we produce and enjoy music.

HipHop is as terrible as ever before. Bad writing abilities seem to be rewarded. The crappier the song, the more popular it seems to get. I think just like 90’s grunge or alternative rock; hiphop is getting old and overused and burning out. If one album does great using auto-tune, every other artist follows suit. Which makes even more albums all the more forgettable and laughable. Somewhere along the way hiphop lost something. And I really think that something was “Creative Individuals” that don’t copy eachother every year.

Music is art. Like all art, it shouldn’t matter what methods are used to produce a piece. The end result is all that is important.

I’m confused: so do you like the song or not? Everyone is judging whether or not the argument is relevant, but no one is commenting on how dope it sounds. Excellent production and tight lyrics make this a winner in my books.

autotune is supposed to be a tool, like a high-hat or a tambourine, what it’s not supposed to be is on every single cd in hip hop.

Death to the Autotune: No one said death to DJ’s scratching or rappers telling stories (Slick Rick, Dana Dane,EMPD)or death to the guitar that rockers use or death to the synthesizer or death to the 808, or death to the Newjack Swing.
