Joell Ortiz – “Food for Thought” Video

Directed by Court Dunn

This is one of the most creative hip-hop videos I’ve seen all year, Dunn’s rudimentary approach notwithstanding. It goes to show that you don’t need a $10 million to deliver a great product, just good ol’ creative imagination.

Every Dose is Highly EXPLOSIVE

My tarot reading tells me that you walked in here praying, “Man, I wish Riz could just play us out with a gem from the GOAT.” Consider your path enlightened and your prayers answered. You’re welcome.

Tila Tequila Is Top 5 Dead or Alive

did-you-know-that-the-homonym-of-tt-is-titty

Everyone has a Greatest Rapper poll these days. Not to be outdone, some tweeps on Twitter joined in on the fun with their own Greatest Rapper poll. According to the noble citizens of Twitteronia, no other rapper on earth is seeing Tila Tequila on the mic, as of Friday morning (11:15 am CT). I’m no expert in these things but I always thought Tila Tequila was more famous for her “reality” show, Money Shot with Tila Tequila or whatever, than for her music.

Proceed for a pictorial summary of the bizarre Tweeterwall saga.

Drake – Can We Be

I went ahead and created a category for this guy, because he’s not going away anytime soon. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing just yet, but I know he’s way more talented than people realize.

Freebie Friday: Ja Rule – The Mirror LP

the-mirror

Ja Rule’s Mirror LP has been in the works since 2007. Ja tried everything in the book to garner some buzz for the album to no avail. He recruited Lil Wayne for the lead single “Uh-Ohhh,” tried to reignite that lame feud with 50, tried the whole NSFW music video thing. No dice. Exasperated with his inability to get The Mirror off the ground, Ja resorted to the oldest stunt in the book — he went and got himself arrested. Unfortunately, that story died 2 days later.

raekwon-onlybuilt4cubanlinxiicover

Raekwon ft. Inspectah Deck, Ghostface Kilalh & Method Man – House Of Flying Daggers (produced by J Dilla)

This is what y’all waited to hear! Supposedly the opening track to OB4CLII, Funkmaster Flex debuted this on the radio last night. For now a radio rip will have to do but you know we’ll hit you with the studio version ASAP. Rae goes in alongside some Ghost, Deck & Meth over a Dilla production set off by some vintage kung fu samples. Somebody get they Marty McFly on and get me a copy already, waiting on september 8th takes too long.
