Kid Sister’s ‘Dream Date’ Deferred … Forever
Kid Sister’s oft-delayed debut album ‘Koko B. Ware’ Dream Date may have been shelved. The Chicago rapper is signed to her boo A-Trak’s Fool’s Gold record label in conjunction with Downtown and apparently it’s the latter that threw a wrench in the plans. The album has been turned in and is in the final stages of mixing. Hit the jump for her explanation and a couple tracks.
Says Kid Sister:
“I finished recording in May and I’ve kind of been recovering from surgery since then. I had this weird nerve problem in my elbow that affected my right hand– it got to the point where I couldn’t even hold a pen without my hand hurting. So I had to put my foot down and pay for the surgery out of pocket. So thank you for buying my surgery, Reebok.
You don’t have health insurance?
No. And the surgery probably cost about as much as a 1992 Mercedes. But now I have an incredible scar that makes me feel like a professional badass– don’t fuck with me!
About a tentative release date:
It’s in the label’s hands, and they’re saying fall. People are like, “What the fuck? Where’s the music?” I’m like, “I’m sorry!” I want people to know that when you see me Twittering about playing putt-putt golf or going to the Wisconsin Dells– I finished recording in May! If you’ve got complaints or concerns, holler at Downtown. Right now, I’m listening to masters and approving mixes. Be patient, folks– I’m working on a mixtape!

My guess is the record label overlords are trying to delay this release long enough for the high point of the Hip-Hop/House trend to be over. Otherwise they might make some, you know, money out of it. If you haven’t done so already download the following tracks while you still can ’cause at least one of them is not going to make the album.
