What If J Dilla Produced Jay-Z’s ‘Blueprint’?

what-if

Oh boy, here we go again with these bizarre blends. Jay Dee and Jay-Z were insanely active in the late 90s/early 00s, but both men never crossed musical paths. Legend has it that Jigga turned down Dilla’s beats. Another story claims it was Jay Dee who simply refused to work with the kid. Now that Dilla is gone, we’ll never know the truth.

Either way, someone who’s obviously never heard the saying, “If it ain’t broke…” has gone and tampered with a masterpiece for the sake of simulating this would-be dream collaboration. Hit the download link below and let me know if it gets a yay or nay.

[...] I’ve never like any of those Jay-Z remix albums.  Not even Danger Mouse’s Grey Album. To me, they never sounded as good as the original. Jay knows how to make an album, from start to finish. He knows what they are supposed to sound like, so the remixes to those albums just didn’t do anything for me. Sure, they were nice to listen to, but they were nothing that I’d ever take seriously. That is, until Jimmy threw Jigga over some Dilla. I downloaded this but didn’t get around to it until @jose3030 reminded me of it. I’m here to tell yall, this is some of the dopest ish I’ve ever heard. That is all. [via] [...]
