DJ AM Had Many Close Calls with Death
When you’ve had so many close calls with death, it eventually becomes a numbers game. Unfortunately DJ AM emerged on the losing end of this game. DJ AM (aka Adam Goldstein) was found dead in his New York pad on Friday, nearly a year after escaping a fatal plane crash that killed 4 others. According to the NY Daily News, police found laying on his stomach with a bag of crack and a pipe on his bed. They also found bottles of prescription drugs, including Xanax in his kitchen.
DJ AM’s last tweet (a suicide note, perhaps) was an ominous quote from “New York New York.”

Suicide attempt:
After a cocaine binge, DJ AM attempted suicide when he was 22 but the gun failed to go off.
Plane crash:
DJ AM and friend Travis Barker were both listed in critical condition after a plane crash that claimed 4 other lives in September 2008. Barker and AM sustained 2nd and 3rd-degree burns from the crash.
Blood clot:
While being treated for 3rd degree burn, AM learned that he had been infected with a blood clot that would’ve claimed his life. He survived the treatment and returned to the stage one month later.
Our hearts go out to the Goldstein family. Rest in power, Adam.
