Tearful Tyson Tells Oprah He’s Tired of Failing

In an emotional sitdown with Oprah Winfrey, Mike Tyson opened up on some of the checkered past. Tyson was candid as he delved into his personal mistakes, his erratic behavior off the ring, his years in prison, his 8-month marriage to Robin Givens, his wasteful spending. He also talks about the death of his 4-year old daughter for the first time. Pop the lid for a wrap-up of the interview and the full video of Oprah’s interview with Iron Mike.
Tyson claimed it was an abusive marriage –both ways. Sure he was physically abusive toward Givens, but that she abused him emotionally.

On the infamous 1997 Holyfield bite-off:
“I was pissed off that he was such a great fighter. I was just mad at him.” Tyson said that after the incident, “I didn’t feel guilty at all,” and that the apology he delivered “wasn’t sincere…I just want to apologize. I’ve known him for such a long time, and I was just undisciplined. I was in a very competitive mood and I wanted so desperately to beat him for my own self-aggrandizement, and I was just upset.”
On not wanting to know the of his daughter’s death:
“I don’t know. I don’t want to know. If I know … [then] somebody’s to blame for it, and if somebody’s to blame for it, there are going to be problems.” He’s probably referring to his ex-wife who was in the house when the freak accident occurred. Tyson’s daughter, Exodus, was found unconscious and tangled in a cord hanging from a treadmill.
