Move the F-ck On

move on

Spoken like a true warrior. I subscribe to the philosophy that some broken pictures are simply not meant to be fixed. Even if you bully your way through the process and eventually mend that picture, it will never look as good as it was before you broke it. So, I concur wholeheartedly with Mr. Shakur’s view here. OK, enough of that. Back to our regularly scheduled programming.

Doh! Hip-Hop Artists Simpsonized

no-homer-posse

Homer and Marge can now boast of some gangstafied company, thanks to the clever minds at Moxy Creative. What follows is an epic concept which turns hip-hop figures into Simpson characters. The set features Kanye West, Lil Wayne, Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, Flava Flav, Eazy E, Andre 3000, Eminem, and Fat Joe alongside iconic O representations for each artist. Too bad Buckshot didn’t get one. Buck is a huge fan of The Simpsons.

Hit the jump for some Simpsonized hip-hop figures.

Freddie Foxxx – “Killa” (Feat. 2Pac)

Freddie Foxxx – “Killa” (Feat. 2Pac)
“If they wanna rumble with the Foxxx /Then they get shot.”

“Killa” is the first single from Foxxx’s mysteriously shelved 1994 album Crazy Like a Foxxx. Bumpy Knuckles and 2Pac trade bars about inner-city violence over a furiously grimy beat. It’s not the best song on the album, but it will definitely get your head nodding and your blood pumping.

2Pac’s Jaguar for Sale on eBay

The 1995, 6 cylinder Jaguar XJS 2Pac used in his “To Live & Die in LA” video is on sale on eBay. I know many of you have $40,000 lying around carelessly for these kinds of things.

Go ahead and bid on it if you’re interested.

LA Times Apologizes for Fake Diddy-2Pac Story

2pac.jpg

If you’re among those who seriously believed that Diddy had anything to do with 2Pac’s 1994 shooting, then you got your April Fool’s a little early this year. The Smoking Gun examined documents used in the LA Times story and found that they were created by a convicted con man and rap fan notorious for exaggerating his place in the hip-hop world. They also noticed that the so-called FBI documents seemed phony because they were written on a typewriter instead of a computer. Apparently the dumbass who created the fake documents didn’t realize that feds stopped using typewriters 30 years ago.

They also found structural errors, grammatical deficiencies, phrases and acronyms that are inconsistent with FBI lingo, among other things.

Chuck Philips who did the story apologized on LAT’s website, saying: “In relying on documents that I now believe were fake, I failed to do my job. I’m sorry.”

Diddy’s reading the retraction right now going “I told you so.” I’d be surprised if he doesn’t sue them for defamation or something.

Chart Report: 2Pac’s Thug Outsells 2Pac’s Life

pac_.jpg

As if it’s not bad enough that Afeni Shakur and Suge Knight have made a hobby out of releasing half-assed posthumous 2Pac albums, heaven knows why they chose to release the latest one as two separate CDs with two different themes. Did it ever occur to them that Shakur is best consumed as ThugLife? The one billed Best of 2Pac, Pt. 2: Thug shifted a mere 22,500 units, but it outsold the Life side by 3,600 units. This implies that people are more drawn to the grimier side of Pac’s music. And you wonder why there’s a proliferation of pseudo gangstas in the game.

Anyhoo, Pac’s Greatest Hits CD wasn’t the only new rap album that debuted this week. Here’s how the rest of them performed on the chart: Read the rest of this entry »
