When I look at this rather brilliant KAWS artwork I don’t see a Complex cover; I see a Clipse album. I mean that as a compliment. There’s so much butter soft crap infiltrating the game right now that a Rick Rubin-curated Clipse album would be a perfect holiday gift to hip-hop. I can dream, right?
The Clipse have escaped wack deals and crack fiends but they seem to shake free from the infamous photo troll. What was Prince Paul thinking?
Do we still need to say “Featuring Pharrell” on Clipse songs? The Thornton brothers should give P some pies and a backpack and crown him the official 3rd member of the Clipse already.

I’m kinda not blown away by this song. Then again, singles have never been the Clipse’s strongest point. For every “Grindin’” they had a “Ma, I Don’t Love Her.” They’re kinda hit and miss with it.
However, if last year’s Road to Till the Casket Drops mixtape is any indication, we just might be in for a treat when Til’ the Casket Drops finally drops. Ha, I’ve always wanted to say that.
The Thornton brothers had nothing but praise for your favorite MC Soulja Boy in their recent interview with some Canadian teeve folks. Pusha T did all the talking. Malice mostly chewed his fingernails and made weird faces the whole time. Read the rest of this entry »
