TRU Brain Trust Debates the Best MC in Slaughterhouse

slaughterhouse-artwork

Slaughterhouse may be the first hip-hop group with no real weak link. Joell, Royce, Joey, and Crooked are all capable of holding down an entire album. Together, they’re deadly. So, rather than debate the weakest link, we decided to debate the strongest. Proceed for our thoughts on the question, “Who’s the best MC in Slaughterhouse?” Each entry is followed by a list of the best Slaughterhouse MCs ranked in order of superiority. – Rizoh

Crooked-I – 8/11

Crooked I – 8/11

I’m posting this song for a couple of reasons. The first is that it’s a good song. Crooked jumps on something distinctly more in keeping with his West Coast tradition than anything that we have heard him in on in a while. Secondly, this songs political jabs will be old news in a week so you might as well hear it while it’s fresh.

Crooked’s persona is like a mix of Ice Cube and Suge Knight after a trip to New York.

As The Slaughterhouse Turns

When I heard rumblings of Slaughterhouse being formed I got excited, I mean these guys are the Fantastic Four of the rap-game. Welcome to the Slaughterhouse, enter at your own risk. Read the rest of this entry »

Crooked-I – “Dream Big” (feat. Akon)

Crooked-I – “Dream Big” (feat. Akon)
Rumored to be the lead cut from Crooked-I’s long-coming debut album.

Who cares if Akon lies about his criminal past? The man writes compelling hooks like no other.
