Here’s Gnarls Barkley’s live rendition of “Reckoner” from Radiohead’s In Rainbows. Though Cee-Lo is more of a wailer than Thom Yorke, he delivers this song so expertly you’d think it was his own.
Homemade soap-opera? Good job, Chris Milk.
I often find myself singing this while doing general cleaning around the crib.
Gnarls Barkley performing “Who’s Gonna Save My Soul” on Saturday Night Live. Not my favorite song on The Odd Couple (that’s a tie between “Going On” and “Neighbors”), but this stripped down rendition made me go back and give the album version another spin. Btw, “Blind Mary” would make an excellent video and single.
[Thanks, Andrew]
You have bootleggers to thank for this one. Gnarls Barkley’s Odd Couple was previously scheduled for April 8th, but it leaked a month early, forcing the duo to unleash the odd goodies on the masses earlier than expected.
From the Press Release:
Initially slated for an April 8th release, The Odd Couple will now be available at various online and physical music retailers across the week of March 18th.
“They felt the timing was right to just go for it,” said an unnamed spokesman for the band. “With the shifting seasons, furtive romantic entanglements and fierce college basketball rivalries, the latter half of March can be confusing. People need to be soothed and inspired now.”
They’re releasing the album because of what Dr. King called “the fierce urgency of now.”
The Odd Couple is available on iTunes now. It will hit stores on March 25.
