Man, this was way too funny to listen to. From the song title and subject matter to Cham’s vocal inflections and biting humor, Koopa went in on this one.
Chamillionaire has just released the tracklist for Mixtape Messiah 4 to whet your appetite for the much-anticipated mix CD. In line with previous installments, MM 4 is light on guest features but heavy on heat rocks. Peep game.

Chamillionaire - “My Life” (feat. Trae & Slim Thug)
Koopa, Trae, and Thugga spitting some heartfelt lyrics over Game’s “My Life.” No matter how many times you hear it, it’s always refreshing to see these guys come together and share a moment. Houston hip-hop is slowly but surely witnessing a revival, ladies and gentlemen.
Trae and Mike Jones have simultaneously released public statements and apologies in an attempt to put their recent altercation behind. I particularly like the fact that Trae’s apology came along with the above picture. In case you’re wondering, that’s Trae holding up the proclamation certificate Mayor Bill White handed him just 3 weeks ago.

Mike Jones had his nose bloodied at last night’s Ozone Awards, thanks to Trae’s knuckles. Watch as Trae reveals the motivation behind the knockout punch that made Mike Jones more popular than he’d like to be. I don’t condone this type of violence, but Trae Vs. Mike Jones is truly a mismatch — physically and musically.
Here’s the first episode of Chamillionaire’s viral video series, Who Wants to Be a Chamillionaire, featuring a crackhead as the contestant. As the title suggests, it’s a spin-off of the popular game show Who Wants to Be a Millionaire.

Congrats to Trae on being honored with his own day. July 22nd is now officially known as Trae Day in Houston. It’s the first time such honor has been bestowed on a rapper. I was really hoping to be at today’s Proclamation Ceremony, but life had other plans. Long story. Shout out to Mayor Bill White for recognizing this kind and dedicated gentleman for who he is.

Chamillionaire has been on hiatus for so long I was starting to wonder if Bill O’Reilly had ordered a hit on him. King Koopa’s back though (at least, I think he is). According to his able publicist Nancy, the latest installment in Cham’s Mixtape Messiah series will be out on August 27th. Mixtape Messiah aside, Cham has been keeping busy with collabos, freestyles (see mp3s above), and whatever else rappers do when they’re not busy bitching at their record companies (most of which deserve to be bitched at, by the way).
“It’s raining Benjamins, but that ain’t 3K” - Chamillionaire (”ChaMilli”)
After a bamillion “A Milli” freestyles, I’m not sure how eager you are to hear Chamillionaire’s version. Just in case anyone asks, he absolutely killed it. Plus, it sounds more authentic hearing a Forbes-recognized millionaire named Chamillionaire rhyming over that beat.

[Disclaimer: Obviously I was really reaching with that post title, but Houston hip-hop really has been in a slumber lately. Though Koopa is one of the smartest mainstream rappers around, it'll take more than one smart artist to answer the wake-up call.]
Slim Thug and the Boss Hogg Outlawz shot a video for their new single, “Keep It Playa,” a couple days ago. The Boomtown-directed video was shot at one of Houston’s grimiest neighborhoods, 3rd ward. Here’s my photo summary of the shoot.
