N.E.R.D. - “Sooner or Later” Video
I feel like saying “f@ck talking ’bout the recession, sh%t’s depressing,” but this video’s amazing. The bit at the end seemed like an after-though. Other than that, great video.

Common and N.E.R.D. On paper, this sounds like 2 different shows. In reality, Pharrell’s click and Common share a common thread of coloring outside the lines: Common as a virtuosic lyricist who isn’t afraid to break the rules — be it the rules of rap or fashion; N.E.R.D. as an adventurous band in an environment that rewards conformity.
On the heels of Common’s upcoming album, produced entirely by Pharrell, their paths merged at the Houston Verizon Theater if only for one night. Opening acts N.E.R.D. (Chad was missing in action) delivered a thoroughly exciting and energetic performance, while headliner Common turned in a mellow, female-friendly, and surprisingly short set. Pharrell came back on stage and helped Common close out the show with a stunning rendition of “Gladiator,” off Common’s new album.

This fun video is part of Converse’s Centennial celebration to mark 100 years in the footwear business. Wow, they’ve been around that long?
I’m also surprised that N.E.R.D. and Santogold hadn’t worked together before now. Then again, we all know how much Santogold loves hip-hop.

N.E.R.D.’s Seeing Sounds Delivers on Its Promise
U.K. bonus track from NERD’s Seeing Sounds. How come they get all the good stuff? That’s it, I’m moving to London.
Not that I expected anything less, but Pharrell and crew came through once again. At the heart of this album is an experimental approach to music making. It works for the most part. One sign of a great album is the ability to show you things you may not have experienced before. Read the rest of this entry »

TRU commenter bdot predicted a college party-themed video for “Everybody Nose.” Maybe he’ll get his wish.
