The 2009 Texas Heat Wave went down in Austin a couple weeks ago and Trae invited me and my boy Shea of the Houston Press to document the show. The craziest part of the night was when Mike Jones backed his truck all the way into the backstage area to avoid physical contact with Trae. Trae went on after Mike Jones and worked the crowd into a frenzy. Ice Cube, the headliner, showed that he hasn’t lost a touch. Cube had everyone on their feet for an hour. To my amazement, though, he looks way shorter in person.
After the Heat Wave concert, we hopped in the car and drove to some all-white frat party (and I don’t mean their outfit) that Trae was billed to perform at. By the time we got to the party, one of the kids who was clearly wasted had fallen asleep in the back of a truck. I’d show you a pic but he woke up before I had a chance to snap him. However, once the show kicked off and the liquor started flowing, there was no shortage of drunk college kids to photograph.
Pop the lid for a photo summary of the events.

However, Ms. Wings here decided to bless the Internetz with semi-nude pictures of herself, so I can’t be mad at her. Pop the hood for even more sizzling pics of Hot Wings.

As evidenced in this recent performance, Fergie seems to be taking on a bigger role for B.E.P. Not that anyone’s complaining.
Take it away, Fergie Ferg. Read the rest of this entry »

I’ll understand if you stopped reading because this post deals with certified nut case DMX. I was a disciple of the Ruff Ryders movement, so I’m glad to see X rocking that Double-R gear once again.

Behold Solange Knowles serenading the crowd at the 2009 Gay Pride Parade in San Francisco. It takes balls to rock a flamboyant outfit like this. What did you think I was talking about?

While driving home yesterday, I came across a legion of brave Iranians protesting the invasion of Hitler in Iran or something. I hopped out of my car and hung around to capture the historic moment on camera. I also learned something new yesterday: Iranians are possibly the most stylish people on earth. Proceed for some pics.
