Bun B – 97.9 The Box Interview Pt. 1
Part 2 | Part 3 | Part 4 | Part 5 | Part. 6
[Audio jacked from Nah Right, Pic via Ozone]
Bun B gave an emotional interview to Houston’s 97.9 The Box yesterday. Like Bun and others, I’m still grappling with the news of C’s death. Dude was really a delight to be around. He had nothing but positive energy when I met him at the ‘Knockin’ Doorz Down” video shoot, and he worked hard to unify the south. My heart goes out to Bun, the Butler family, and all of H-Town.

Lil Flip – Pimp C Tribute [mp3]
Damn, I just came home to this tragic news. Pimp C was found dead in a hotel room, according to TMZ.com.
L.A. County Fire responded to a 911 call at the Mondrian Hotel, located on trendy Sunset Strip in Hollywood. They arrived to his sixth floor hotel room to find him dead in bed.
I can’t believe Texas just lost another one this year. It’s a sad day in hip-hop.
You know the check writers at Jive had to get on the phone with Pimp C after that Atlanta-bashing episode. (After all, they have an album to sell on August 7th.)
“To all my Atlanta fans & friends, I want to say I apologize for my statement in the Ozone magazine about Atlanta not being the south!! That was bullsh*t statement. Atlanta is and has always been the dirty muthaf***in south!! Chuuch!!”
Here’s the best part of his apology:
“But the rest of what I said about them p***y a** n***as is and always will be the truth.
PS: If you wanna go to war, I will take you to world war 3, b****, at the drop of a dime. If you ridin’ with me, thank you. If you not, f**k you very much…”
Unfortunately, the rest of Pimp C’s statement is not reprintable on a family website like The Rap Up.
Pimp C had the internet going nuts the other day when he bodied Atlanta in the August issue of Ozone. ATL’s 107.9 reached out to the Pimp to find out why he’s so mad. The interview is long and Pimp C is screaming on top of his lungs, so I’ll sum it up for you:
-His statements are right but you may have heard it wrong
-Atlanta is not part of the south
-Atlanta is the gay capital of the US
-Pimp C is a man
-Pimp C is speaking on behalf of Pimp C, not UGK
-Crunk rappers should mail lifetime royalty checks to Three Six Mafia
And all this is coming from the guy who just worked with OutKast on “Int’l Players Anthem,” labeled Young Jeezy “one of the realest n***as,” and dubbed T.I. “King of the South.”
I have to agree with the Pimp on one thing though: I flew to ATL for the last BET Hip-Hop Awards and had to adjust my watch to eastern daylight time.
