Alchemist Visits Prodigy in Jail

Thursday, August 14th, 2008

Prodigy’s friend and longtime collaborator Alchemist paid a visit to the jailed rapper the other day. Al also found time to blog about his experience.

You know from the second you pull off the highway onto that long, secluded road in the middle of the straight up Ozark woods that this could never, ever, never be a place that any human would willingly choose to go to.

He was a nice enough to stop by the market and pick up some food for P.

We made a stop at the market for some canned vegetables that Pee wanted (you already know the food in there is straight dogshit) and about 20$ in quarters so we could take pictures.

If you’ve been checking Vibe.com you’ve probably noticed that Prodigy has returned with yet another installment of his random conspiracy theories. This time, he’s petrified of the fluoride.

Typing in all CAPS, P educates us on the hazards of fluoride:
“FLUORIDE IS FOUND IN TOOTHPASTE; DRINKING WATER FROM THE FAUCET, SHOWER WATER AND IT’S A POLLUTANT IN THE AIR THAT WE BREATHE OUTSIDE.

FLUORIDE WAS FIRST INTRODUCED INTO DRINKING WATER AND TOOTHPASTE IN THE LATE TO EARLY 80’S. I CAN REMEMBER AS A CHILD IN SCHOOL WHEN THEY MADE US BRING HOME SOME TYPE OF PAPER TALKING ABOUT FLUORIDE. FLUORIDE IS SUPPOSED TO STOP CAVITIES AND TOOTH DECAY, WHEN IN TOOTHPASTE, AND KILL GERMS IN DRINKING WATER.

AS I BECAME OLDER AND STARTED RESEARCHING ABOUT FOOD ADDITIVES AND INGREDIENTS, I FOUND OUT THAT FLUORIDE IS A POISON!!!! FIRST, I FOUND OUT THAT THE U.S. MILITARY WAS USING FLUORIDE AS AN INGREDIENT IN MAKING NAPALM BOMBS FOR THE VIETNAM WAR. THEN I FOUND OUT THAT EVERYTIME WE BRUSH OUR TEETH WITH FLUORIDE TOOTHPASTE, WE ARE SLOWLY POISONING OURSELVES LITTLE BY LITTLE.”

‘H.N.I.C. Pt. 2′ The DVD Collection

Tuesday, May 13th, 2008

Prodigy had so much time to spare before going to jail, so he decided to shoot a music video for every song on his H.N.I.C. 2 album. Now, P will expand his hustle by releasing a video accompaniment to H.N.I.C. 2 album on June 17th. The DVD will feature exclusive videos for the following songs:

  • “Represent Me”
  • “The Dough”
  • “Get Trapped”
  • “When I See You” (featuring Cormega)

In other news, Prodigy has a new blog up on Vibe.com.

“Represent Me”

P shot a slew of music videos for his new album, HNIC 2, before going to jail. Why his camp decided to unveil all the videos at the same time I’ll never understand. Not complaining though.

Three more clips under the roof. (more…)

An Album I Care About Today: H.N.I.C. 2

Here’s what an average hip-hop artist’s career cycle looks like (the long-standing ones, at least):

–>Starts off with 1 - 2 supa dupa album(s)
–> Gets stuck in a creative rut for 2-5 years
–> Bounces back with 1 exceptional album to hush the haters
–> Hits creativity wall again…You get the picture.

P’s bounceback album was the appropriately titled Return of the Mac, one of the Top 10 albums of 2007. Thankfully, he keeps the creative juice flowing throughout H.N.I.C. 2. He sounds more mature, more articulate, yet more irreverent than ever. Now, all that will probably change after he goes to jail. I can’t think of too many rappers that have been able to drop a decent album after being locked up. Must be that jail food.
