Obie Trice Dumps Shady Records (Or is it the other way around?)

obie trice
There’s a new song from Obie Trice called “Giant” that has been floating around the net lately. Trice reveals on that song that he’s finally dug himself out of the trenches of Shady Records. (When was the last time anyone dropped an album on Shady?)

Sample Lyrics:

“No more Shady. Maybe it was meant for me to branch out from a Caucasian friend. No more 2nd place to Eminem. If I Was 2nd is the question of many men. No disrespect to Em; he is 1st. Anything after, research the verses.”

Frankly, the song is terrible. Rambling, unimaginative lyrics is not how I remember Obie Trice. What happened to the clearheaded, funky fresh lyricist we once knew as O. Trice? Maybe he just needs time to gather his thoughts. I’m sure we’ll be hearing more about the motives behind his exit in the weeks ahead.

Ca$his – County Hounds Cover Art

…because the world needs another $-sign-named rapper

Ca$his, one of the few marginally talented new artists on Shady Records, will release his County Hounds EP on May 8th.

To hold you over till then, he’s offering a free download of his Bogish Boy mixtape.
