If you could ask Joey, Joell, Royce and Crooked one question what would you ask them?

If you could ask Joey, Joell, Royce and Crooked one question what would you ask them?

Slaughterhouse may be the first hip-hop group with no real weak link. Joell, Royce, Joey, and Crooked are all capable of holding down an entire album. Together, they’re deadly. Oh boy, it appears that Joe Budden’s antics angered some folks so much that they decided to retaliate by painstakingly excising him from the Slaughterhouse album, which hasn’t even dropped officially. Not to mention that I’ve heard a few people point to Budden as the weakest link in Slaughterhouse.

The Slaughterhouse boys aren’t afraid of leakage. They know they’ve got the biggest internet-following since dramatic chipmunk, except they’re a bit more bad-ass. So how does this track fare? Will it further the hype or do the non-believers have new ammo?

Nickle Nine decrees on-stage that Slaughterhouse has no beef/issues/problems/qualms with Wu-Tang whatsoever.
Truth be told it’s a little too Phil Jackson for me. I was looking forward to these two groups tossing Zen in the waste basket and get to making what I anticipated (before the white flag went in the air) would have been the best beef rap in the last 5 years. Maybe longer. Oh well, there’s always The Game.

Last night, Andrew put me on to this Inspectah Deck diss track in which he goes at Joe Budden. Though he (Andrew) hailed it as the beginning of the epic battle between the 300 and the Persian army, I was not convinced until I heard the song. Even then, my initial reaction was, “Ok, so they sent Deck? Joey gets no respect.” But at the end of the day, my cynical side is the reasonable side and I realized that he’s the one with an album release date in 2009 listed as TBA. Of course they sent Deck, its all business. Now I’m going to go ahead and assume that if/when Jumpoff responds, he will mention the entire Wu-Tang Clan and I hope and pray that he recruits the help of his co-workers beforehand. So it takes a little imagination and looking forward into the future, but we could legitimately see the battle of the decade beginning before us. That being said, since we all know that Joe Budden has the “Jayceon Taylor disease” which makes him incapable of holding his tongue; we can assume that something will happen. So, here are my pros and cons to what could turn into a very legit battle if the right people get off of the sidelines. Read the rest of this entry »
