Ron Artest Guarantees Rockets Championship

Monday, August 4th, 2008

I can’t fault part-time rapper and full-time baller Ron Artest for saying he’s ready to win a championship. We have enough weapons in our arsenal to make a deep run, if everyone stays healthy. Besides, that’s probably what it’s going to take for people to stop bringing up that brawl every other sentence. That said, we all know how guarantees usually end up in professional sports.

A few more clips on the Artest trade below.

Trina, Kenyon Martin Involved in Car Crash

Friday, July 25th, 2008

Miami rapper Trina and Denver Nuggets Forward Kenyon Martin were involved in a serious car accident in Belize earlier today. The two were in Belize for a benefit basketball event scheduled for Saturday. According to TMZ, their car was reportedly side-swiped by another car and run off the road as they were leaving the airport. We gather that everyone’s fine and dandy.

Well, Martin better come back to the States in one piece because Denver may seriously want to trade him for a more defensive player when get back.

Shaq Just Gave Kobe Another Championship

Tuesday, June 24th, 2008

I have all the respect in the world for Shaq Fu, one of the greatest Centers to ever do it. Having said that, he didn’t have to bring up bygone sentiments the way he did at that nightclub. Everyone knows Shaq was a major factor in all those Laker championships. Duh, why else was he named Finals MVP for 3 consecutive years?

Saying, “Kobe couldn’t do it without me” will only motivate Bryant to go out and get it. Next season, Kobe will win a championship and I won’t be surprised if he drops a diss on Shaq.

By the way, the USA Olympic men’s basketball team was announced yesterday. See the roster below.

Celtics are World Champions

Tuesday, June 17th, 2008

Kevin Garnett

Celtics destroyed the overrated Lake Show to win the 2008 NBA Championship. Pure proof that defense still wins championships. It wasn’t just about one guy, it was group effort. Boston deserved the victory. Ubuntu!

Look out for my Rockets next season.

Serena: Common is a timeless artist

Saturday, June 7th, 2008

Serena Williams covers the July issue of Ebony, in which she talks about dating, olympic bid, and her stellar physique. She deflected a question about her relationship with Common, but didn’t hesitate to compliment him on his mic skills.

On Common:

“I think he’s a great guy. He’s obviously a great artist who is timeless and classic. You can’t beat that. But I have to focus on tennis because that’s my goal in life.”

Oh well, I guess no more rough nights.
