Method Man ft. Ricky Watters – It’s in the Game

I know what you’re thinking and the answer is yes, THAT Ricky “Runnin” Watters of the Superbowl XXIX champion San Francisco 49ers and the Philadelphia Eagles. One of my best friends is a (Pre-Vick,  Mcnabb, and TO) Eagles fan and he spotted this over at the 700 Level today.

Apparently the Funk Doc’s homeboy is a serious football fan, because he didn’t do this collab for the love of the rap game.

“I Just Want Ariza Back!”

Ariza was her favorite. She just wants him back. And who the hell is this Artest guy? He doesn’t look nearly as tall as Ariza. Booo!

T-Mac Is No Longer No.1 in Houston

t-mac-no1-jersey

After days of speculation, it has now been confirmed that newly acquired Rockets Forward Trevor Ariza will be rocking McGrady’s No.1. jersey, while T-Mac will switch his uniform to No. 3. Initially I thought T-Mac picked “No. 3″ to reflect how many minutes he’ll play before limping off the court, but we’re told it’s for a good cause.

The Chronicle
says he made the move to promote his charity efforts in Darfur:

Rockets guard Tracy McGrady will change his uniform number to No. 3 to promote his “3 points Darfur” initiative, with an announcement expected this week.

Oh, and they made sure to point out that this had nothing to do with Ariza:

McGrady put in the paperwork for the uniform change midway through last season and had received league approval. He was making the switch to his high school number to bring attention to his Darfur Dream Team campaign and 3 Points documentary,

Newly acquired Trevor Ariza will wear No. 1 but could not show the uniform at the news conference last week while details of McGrady’s uniform change were completed.

Let me get this straight: McGrady suddenly decided to change his jersey number to promote a documentary he shot in 2007? Yeah, that makes sense. If anything, I think he just pulled a Kobe and is hoping to kick off the second half of his career with a fresh start. Nothing wrong with that. I wish him all the best wherever he decides to go.

Can Artest Help Lakers Defend Their Title?

This video shows Ron Artest and his agent Dave Bauman discussing offers from various teams. As you probably know, Ron Artest has made a verbal agreement to sign with the Lakers next season. Ron ended up going with L.A. because he has a better chance of winning a championship as Kobe’s bodyguard. Ron may want to ask Kobe for a replica of his ring, because I don’t see the Lakers winning it all next season.

Are You Looking at Her Titles?

Britain Wimbledon Tennis

She’s twice the size of Venus and now Serena Williams has almost twice as many Grand Slam titles as her older sister, after beating Venus 7-6 (3), 6-2 to capture her 3rd Wimbledon title and 11th major title, 20th overall.

Despite winning three of the four major grand slams, Common’s girlie is still ranked at No.2. The world No.1, Dinara Safina, has never won a grand slam title. Clearly the WTA ranking system isn’t looking at Serena’s titles.

Says Serena:

“I think if you hold three grand slam titles maybe you should be the world No1, but not on the WTA Tour obviously. You know, my motivation is maybe just to win another grand slam and to stay at No2 in the world.”

“I would go crazy just thinking about the ranking. I think anyone really could. I’d rather definitely be No2 and hold three grand slams in the past year than be No 1 and not have any. I don’t know what to do to be No1 any more. I don’t even care any more.”

Either way you look at it, the force is strong with the Williams family.

Kobe Makes His First Appearance on Tonight Show [Video]

Kobe made his first appearance on the new Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien. I was kinda hoping he would wear a silver garbage bag in honor of Michael Jordan’s 1986 Letterman appearance.
